October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which means it's a great time to get back in the habit of conducting regular self-exams, and go ahead and schedule your next annual mammogram, too!

As nurses and health professionals, we put others' health and wellbeing above our own, but it's so important that we take care of ourselves. Take a little time this month to get checked for breast cancer. We need you in this fight!

Today, UH Geneva nurses delivered this letter directly to each member of management.

The message is simple:

Respect our rights. Respect our union. Knock off the union busting.

You know what they say: if nurses are on the outside, there are problems on the inside. And there were a whole lot of nurses outside OSU Medical Center today.

On November 13, 2026, University Hospitals plans to eliminate cancer care at UH Geneva, forcing its patients from Ashtabula County and neighboring communities to travel to UH's TriPoint Medical Center in Lake County, an additional 30 to 60 minutes of travel time for cancer patients and their families and caregivers.

Please sign our petition, which demands that University Hospitals keep high-quality, accessible cancer treatment care close to home for Ashtabula County and neighboring residents.
