FREE SUMMER MEALS are coming back to the library 🍽️🌟

Starting Monday, June 1, kids and teens can get free meals at select library locations thanks to Children's Hunger Alliance. Some branches will also offer breakfast or dinner options.

Meals will be available until school is back in session.

Keep your home warm this season with HEAP! The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps eligible low-income Ohioans with a one-time payment toward their household utility or bulk fuel bill. Apply in person, by phone at your local Energy Assistance Provider (EAP), or online at energyhelp.ohio.gov.

If you’ve received a disconnect notice, ask about the Winter Crisis Program and apply by 3/31/26. Minor updates to eligibility: first PIPP and PIPP default are no longer criteria for Winter Crisis assistance.

Food insecurity is a pervasive issue facing our community. Here’s an up-to-date list of 17 library locations* serving free after-school snacks.

A typical “super-snack” features a fruit, vegetable, protein, grain, and milk. The meal program is generously provided by Children's Hunger Alliance.

*EDIT: The Marion-Franklin Branch has also begun serving After-School Snacks. Find always up-to-date times and locations in the comments.

SUN Bucks (also known as Summer EBT) provides families with a grocery benefit—money they can use to buy the food their kids love and need during the summer months. Grab-and-go meals allow families to pick up free meals at accessible locations—like libraries, schools, or community sites—and take them home, no questions asked. That flexibility makes it easier for working parents or families in rural areas to get the support they need without extra hurdles. Learn more at https://bit.ly/4mL9aiy
