We’re kicking off the Fall 2026 Challenge on Creative Spaces! For our first prompt, choose a project and lay the background with Fall colors.
I’m sharing the Fall scroll I’m working on—and exploring a pouch and needle book, too. You can join in with quilting, sewing, embroidery, painting, journaling, knitting, crochet, or any kind of making you love. Make it your own and have fun with it!

Join us for the **Orphan Blocks & UFOs Open Retreat** at Fox Country Quilts, **November 16–18, 2026**.
This is open retreat time: no assigned project and no formal class schedule. Bring the quilt, blocks, or unfinished project you’re ready to tackle, and enjoy three days to sew, quilt, and make progress at your own pace—with friendly help nearby when you need it.
Your retreat includes **two nights and seven meals**. Bring a project that needs finishing—or one that simply needs a fresh start!

“BUT I BARELY USE MY SEWING MACHINE…”
We hear this one a lot.
And yes, how much you sew matters.
But not sewing very often doesn’t mean your machine never needs service.
Even a machine that spends much of its time sitting can collect dust and lint. Lubricants can age, parts can need adjustment, and sometimes little problems aren't discovered until you finally sit down to sew again.
And you know when that usually happens?
When you've got a project you REALLY want to make.
Then you pull out the machine that's been patiently waiting for you and discover...
Skipped stitches.
Tension problems.
Strange noises.
Or a machine that simply isn't sewing the way you remember.
So before fall and holiday sewing season gets underway, think about the last time your machine was professionally serviced.

We celebrated Dolly Day at Fox Country Quilts with a little Kinusaiga butterfly magic… and then things got BLINGY. ✨
Because apparently, our butterflies needed more than beautiful fabric.
They needed sparkle.
They needed shine.
They needed a little “Well, hello, gorgeous!” 💕😂
Our ladies had a blast turning tiny pieces of fabric into these beautiful butterflies, then giving them their own Dolly-worthy finishing touches.
Why be a plain butterfly when you can be a FABULOUS butterfly? 🦋✨
That’s what happens when you put creative women, fabric, a little glue, and Dolly Day in the same room.
And honestly…

Bits & Pieces™ is Saturday morning, and this is one of those wonderfully relaxed creative classes where your scraps, little treasures, threads, buttons, trims, and odds & ends finally get their chance to become something.
Watch the video and I’ll show you what to gather and bring along. And remember, you do NOT need to go buy a bunch of stuff. Dig through what you already have and bring the bits and pieces that make you happy.

DON’T WAIT UNTIL IT BREAKS!
Your sewing machine doesn’t have to be making horrible noises, skipping stitches or throwing a full-blown tension tantrum before it deserves a trip to the service bench.
In fact, we’d much rather see it BEFORE that happens.
Lint, thread and fabric fibers build up inside your machine in places you simply can’t reach during normal cleaning. Add hours and hours of sewing, and all those hardworking little moving parts can use some attention, too.
And with fall sewing season right around the corner, NOW is a great time.
If your domestic sewing machine hasn’t been professionally serviced in more than a year, bring it in!
