🎤 Meet Jordyn Sharp, a new CTE Speech and Professional Communication teacher at CMS!

Jordyn is a proud Commerce ISD Class of 2016 graduate and brings five years of teaching experience to our Tigers. She will also coach seventh grade basketball and track. Jordyn chose CISD because Commerce is home, and she is excited to give back to the same community that helped shape her.

Join us Thursday, July 23, at 5:30 p.m. at the Commerce ISD Central Administration Building as we begin planning how the Texas Rural Education Collaborative (TREC) Grant will create new opportunities for our students.

Early ideas include:
📚 Early childhood literacy
🎓 College and career exploration through ETAMU and PJC
🏭 Learning from local industries
💰 Real-life financial literacy and planning for the future

We are also excited to welcome Breanna Washington, who will help lead this initiative with her background in education, ministry, and fresh ideas.

If you have a student in Commerce ISD, we want to hear from you. We need voices from every age, background, and walk of life to help shape this program.

Big things are cooking at Commerce ISD! 🍎🍽️

This year, Commerce ISD has brought Food and Nutrition Services back in-house after many years with third-party vendors. This change not only saves the district money, but also welcomes our cafeteria staff into the Commerce ISD family.

With this exciting transition, we are proud to welcome Carrie Clements as our new Director of Food and Nutrition Services! 🐯

Carrie brings valuable experience to the role and has earned her Registered Texas School Business Official (RTSBO) certification through TASBO, demonstrating expertise in school finance, operations, and food service regulations.

She will be working alongside our longtime Food Services secretary, Melissa McLarry, and together they are ready to serve our students and staff.

We have some 𝐁𝐈𝐆 news! Commerce ISD is increasing bus driver pay to $22.00 per hour, a $2.00 per hour increase for new drivers! 🎉

Even better, our current bus drivers are receiving a $1.00 per hour raise because we value the incredible work they do every day. 🧡

School starts in just one month, and we need more amazing drivers to help get our students to and from school safely.
