The school year is in full swing at our MDEA offices! Your Executive Board members are spending the day at their annual Back to School retreat to go over our goals and needs for the school year. We are ready for the year, because our students deserve the best! 🔵✊🏽🔵✊🏼🔵✊🏿🔵

Yes on prop 3 for the November election.

It's official. Our campaign to protect California school funding is now YES on Prop 3, on the November ballot.

Prop 3 keeps the wealthiest Californians paying their share so our public schools get the funding our students deserve. Without it, our public schools face a devastating 15% budget cut.

We worked to get it on the ballot. Now we take that same energy to November.

Keep fighting for the funding our schools and students deserve.

Today's final state budget withholds nearly $4 billion in constitutionally guaranteed Prop. 98 funding and undermines voters' voices by proposing to strip the elected State Superintendent's authority, putting our public schools at risk. This budget includes several hard-fought wins for California students but we can't ignore these setbacks. Our students deserve leaders who invest in their future not budgets that weaken our democracy or shortchange our classrooms. We will keep fighting for the fully funded public schools California's students and communities deserve.
