🌧️ Why Does Rain Sometimes Delay Home Construction? 🏡

One of the most common questions we hear during the building process is, "Why can't we keep moving forward after it rains?"

The truth is, rain affects much more than just the job site.

Before we can even start construction, dirt work requires the right soil conditions. If the ground is too wet, heavy equipment can get stuck, and the soil won't compact properly. Sometimes your property may look fine, but if local dirt pits are saturated from recent storms, we may not be able to get the quality fill dirt needed to build a strong pad for your future home.

Rain can also impact foundation work. Before a slab is poured, forms, plumbing trenches, and other preparations must be dry and properly inspected. Standing water can create issues that need to be addressed before concrete is placed. Taking the extra time to let conditions improve helps ensure a stronger, longer-lasting foundation.

Later in the process, flatwork such as driveways, patios, and sidewalks can also be delayed. Excess moisture can affect site preparation and concrete placement, making it important to wait for the right conditions.

While weather delays can be frustrating, they're often necessary to protect the quality and integrity of your home. We never want to rush a critical step simply to stay on schedule.

At the end of the day, Mother Nature may control the weather, but we're committed to making sure your home is built the right way—not the fastest way.

Because a home built to last is worth the wait. ❤️🏡

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day, the freedom to gather with family, create memories, and build a place to call home. ❤️🏡

As we spend time with loved ones this Memorial Day, may we never forget those who made it possible.

From all of us at Precision Homes, we thank and remember our fallen heroes.

There’s something special about this set of plans…

A new client recently walked through our doors carrying a piece of history. His father built this very home with us back in 1969—and today, it’s still standing strong.

Now, decades later, we have the honor of building for the next generation.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. It’s more than building houses—it’s building legacies that last. ❤️
