Compassion United
We exist to empower and equip the homeless, poor & under-resourced in Montgomery County and beyond.
What started in 2006 as a simple, God-given vision to feed the homeless, Compassion United, has grown into the most comprehensive support ministry in all Montgomery County. Now, over a decade later, serving people is still at the heart of all we do yet with a more defined, dynamic purpose to provide outreach, relief and empowerment to those on fringes of society. For people experiencing homelessness, the smallest thing can make a BIG difference. Our Resource Room is stocked with donated clothing, shoes and personal items that help our clients survive and function, and one of the most-requested items is a belt.
This week, thanks to our partnership with Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and their Creative Pathways grant, we were able to provide a belt making workshop. Our clients were empowered to meet an important need with their own hands. What a great learning experience for our community!

Our Bike to Work program is pretty new, but we've seen nearly 100 individuals experiencing homelessness find new hope and opportunities upon receiving a bicycle or bicycle repair.

Savannah Cordell serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Compassion United, where she leads day-to-day operations and helps move the mission forward in practical, tangible ways. She began as a volunteer in 2010 and steadily worked her way up through the organization into her current leadership role. In addition to her role as COO, she also serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary.
Compassion United would not be the organization that it is without her passionate and dedicated work, and we are so grateful for all that Savannah brings! Happy anniversary, boss lady!

Last week we were so honored to be joined by friends and trusted community partners to celebrate the grand opening of our new on-campus transitional homes. Our housing program has been in operation for over 15 years and we have seen hundreds of men and women be empowered with the tools to start new, healthier lives.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, partner agencies, and longtime supporters, the new homes will double our capacity and EXPONENTIALLY increase our impact!
We are thankful for everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. If you want to get involved in supporting the growth of our transitional residents, get in touch with us! [email protected]

We are deeply grateful for the support of Missions On Wheels. Being able to provide hot showers for our clients experiencing homelessness has been so valuable. Looking forward to our ongoing collaboration!
Today, -1 will be leaving Compassion United's campus in Conroe, TX, just two weeks short of three years of active service. We're not done serving Conroe's unhoused population, as ST-5 will be moved in to replace ST-1 while we help C.U. build their own shower trailer.
ST-1 will return to Missions Ranch and be put in the lineup for overhaul, behind ST-8 and ST-2.
If you would like to help us provide showers for the homeless and help us repair/rebuild ST-1 (or 2 & 8), please follow the link to donate.
