Most high performers think stepping away is stepping away. It's not that simple.
One kind of distance brings you back sharper. The other is just avoidance wearing a nicer outfit.

High performance means you're doing great compared to everyone else. Optimal performance means you're doing great compared to yourself, sustainably. That difference matters more than it sounds.
High performers will tell you they'll do whatever it takes, except slow down. Optimal performers root their value in who they are, not what they produce. That's what makes the results transfer, business to marriage, work to everything else.

It's not. The people you should be hiring already have it.
Your job is to nourish them so they actually have the energy to use it. Feed first. Then let them hunt.

A perk, a policy, a quick fix that makes the surface look better without touching why the problem showed up in the first place.
Real change means going after the actual cause. Everything else is just management.
You will never "find time." It doesn't exist waiting around for you to discover it.
What works is building intentional buckets, blocks of time set aside for the things that actually matter.
Then give yourself permission to move them. Pivot when life happens. Give time back to a different slot instead of hunting for time that was never there.
You're not a slave to your schedule. You built it. You can rebuild it.

It was this: find out what your people actually value, then use that to motivate them day to day. Not a one-size-fits-all pitch. Specific to the person.

Optimal performers don't plan on Monday. They plan on Friday.
Here's why it matters: if you're figuring out your week after it's already started, you're not executing, you're still deciding. And deciding while you're supposed to be moving is exhausting.
Close out Friday. Walk into Monday already running.
