Double J Riding Club

Our Equine Science students had an opportunity to learn about Indigenous horses, their history, and the significance of cultural horse markings and war paint through a hands-on painting activity.. to make their own war horse!

🎨🐴🎨🐴

They explored the traditions and stories connected to those horses, what each unique marking means, and put their creativity to work bringing their learning to life. This fun activity gave our students a chance to connect history, culture, and art together!

There are still some slots open in our many farm programs where students can experience hands-on learning activities for the school semester just like this one! For more information or to sign up for a slot, click our link in bio➡️ Menu ➡️Educational Programs ➡️ Farm School

What a wonderful shoutout to Double J from our Lyons Township High School D204 (LTHS) partners in their newsletter this week!

We are so excited to be partnering with the LTHS High School Transition Program this year! The students visit Double J each day of the week to gain job skills and experience through tasks such as animal care and feed preparation, early childhood assistance of our littles, farm maintenance, farm gardening and horticulture etc. The students work really hard to help us drastically with all of our farm tasks! We are so thankful for this partnership and giving back to our community!
