Apparently the new wellness trend is… alcohol with a health halo.

Add protein.
Add electrolytes.
Lower the calories.
Call the ingredients “clean.”
Package it like something you’d reach for after a workout.

But none of that changes what’s actually in the can.

We’ve spent years being sold the idea that alcohol belongs in every celebration, every dinner, every vacation, every hard day, every good day.

Now that more people are questioning that relationship, the marketing is changing too.

Maybe we don’t need a “healthier” way to drink alcohol.

Maybe we need to ask why we were so convinced we needed it in the first place.

Different packaging. Same alcohol.

And that’s exactly why we’ll keep talking about it.

A new place to pop the cork!

DryOak Brut is officially making its way to the Southern Hotel in Downtown Covington.

They’ll be pouring soon, and we could not be more excited to see our bottles behind the bar at such an iconic local spot.

Something to think on…

We’ve gotten so used to altering how we feel that we rarely stop to question it.

A drink to loosen up.
A drink to celebrate.
A drink because we’re stressed.
A drink because we’re bored.
A drink because everyone else is.

But needing a substance to change your mood, calm your nerves, enjoy the room, or simply sit with yourself isn’t normal just because our culture has made it feel that way.

There’s a difference between normal and normalized.

Maybe the goal isn’t to escape every uncomfortable emotion. Maybe it’s learning that you can actually feel it, move through it, and still be okay.

Something worth thinking about.

A lot of us never stop to ask whether we actually enjoy the life we’re living sober.

The people.
The places.
The conversations.
The version of ourselves we become around them.

Alcohol can make almost anything feel easier for a few hours.

But when you remove it, you get something more valuable than a buzz:

clarity.

And sometimes clarity shows you what connection was real… and what was only comfortable because you were checked out.

Something to think on…

We spend years teaching our kids not to change who they are just to fit in. Not to use drugs. Not to give in to peer pressure. Not to rely on something to alter the way they feel.

Then they grow up watching adults do exactly that with alcohol and we’ve somehow made it completely normal.

We call it “taking the edge off.”
“We deserve a drink.”
“It’s been a long day.”
“We can’t celebrate without champagne.”
“We need a drink to loosen up.”

Different substance. Same message: I need something outside of myself to feel different than I do right now.

This isn’t about judging anyone who drinks. It’s about questioning the culture we’ve created around it.

Because our kids are listening to what we tell them… but they’re also watching what we normalize.

Maybe the conversation about drinking starts long before they ever take their first sip.

We’re creating something that feels less like a traditional “model shoot” and more like an editorial Southern lifestyle campaign..natural, candid and effortless. Think Louisiana riverfront, mossy trees, boots, denim, linen, laid-back moments, champagne pours, conversations and movement. Moody and rugged with an elevated edge.

We’re looking for guys who are comfortable simply being themselves in front of the camera. No modeling experience necessary..the goal is authentic lifestyle moments rather than posed, head-on portraits.

To know this guy is to love him…

I’ve had the privilege of watching his story become so much bigger than either of us ever expected. What began with one decision to change his own life eventually became a mission centered around helping others change theirs.

I don’t think he realizes how much he means to this community. I see the people who reach out, the ones who trust him with the hard stuff, and the way he continues to make time to pour into them.

I’m proud of a lot of things, but watching him use the most vulnerable parts of his life to give someone else hope will always be at the top of that list.
