Crestview Co***ne Traffickers Plead Guilty

Pensacola, Florida – Arzalea Teshean McLaughlin, 37, Benjamin Eugene Mack, 54, and Roger Cornell Daniels, 38, all of Crestview, Florida, pleaded guilty in federal court to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of co***ne and co***ne base, conspiracy to unlawfully use a communications facility, and possession with intent to distribute co***ne. John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, announced the plea.

U.S. Attorney Heekin said: “Thanks to the coordinated investigative efforts of our state and federal law enforcement partners, this trio’s days of trafficking drugs in the Northern District of Florida are at an end. With every successful prosecution by my office we are taking back our streets from these peddlers of poisonous drugs to deliver the safe, drug-free communities that the citizens of the Northern District of Florida deserve.”

According to court documents, between 2023 and 2025, McLaughlin, Mack, and Daniels conspired with each other and others to distribute more than 500 grams of co***ne and co***ne base, commonly known as “crack co***ne.” McLaughlin obtained co***ne for sale through Daniels and used multiple locations in Okaloosa County to store and distribute drugs, including Mack’s and Daniels’ residences. Search warrants at those locations led to the seizure of nearly three-quarters of a kilogram of co***ne from Mack’s residence and almost one-quarter of a kilogram of co***ne from Daniel’s residence.

McLaughlin’s sentencing has been set for September 24, 2026, at 9 a.m., Mack’s sentencing has been set for October 15, 2026, at 2 p.m., and Daniels’ sentencing has been set for November 4, 2026, at 9 a.m. before United States District Judge T. Kent Wetherell, II. McLaughlin and Mack face a minimum mandatory of 10 years up to life in prison, and Daniels faces a minimum mandatory of 5 years’ up to a total of 74 years’ imprisonment. Each defendant faces enhanced penalties due to having prior qualifying drug or violent convictions.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigations, the Crestview Police Department, and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Alicia H. Forbes.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

Introducing Our Newest Officer and Recognizing Heroic Actions:

We are thrilled to introduce you to our newest officer, Officer Robin Kasabian, who was officially sworn in today. Officer Kasabian has been an integral part of our city for several years and has now completed her academy training to become a Police Officer. We are excited to support her as she embarks on this new chapter of her career. In the coming days, Officer Kasabian will be completing her field training. If you see her around, please join us in congratulating her on this achievement.

Celebrating Heroic Actions:

In addition to welcoming Officer Kasabian, we also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Officer Greene, who has been awarded the Lifesaving Award for his exemplary actions. Officer Greene demonstrated outstanding courage and compassion when he managed a critical situation involving a subject who intended to take his own life. Through his skillful intervention, Officer Greene deescalated the situation, leading to the subject's safe surrender and receipt of necessary medical attention.

We want to express our deep gratitude to these officers for their dedication and commitment to serving our community. Their actions exemplify the values we strive to uphold and remind us of the impact that dedicated individuals can have on the lives of others. Let's continue to support and appreciate the hard work of all our officers as they protect and serve.

If you regularly travel **Redstone Avenue**, we encourage you to begin practicing safe driving habits through the school zone. School zone speed cameras will soon be active, and now is a great time to slow down, stay alert, and watch for children, crossing guards, and school traffic.

🚶 Watch for students and pedestrians.
📵 Stay focused and avoid distractions.
🚗 Give yourself a little extra travel time during school arrival and dismissal hours.

News Release

On Saturday, August 1st, 2026, shorty after 4:30 a.m, the Crestview Police Department responded to a 911 call in the area of Brock Avenue and Church Street, in reference to a shooting victim.

When officers arrived, they discovered 65 year old Crestview resident: Willie Earl Jackson deceased, having been shot and killed, and left lying on the edge of the roadway. He was last seen alive around 1:30 this morning, several blocks away.

Investigators with the Crestview Police Department requested the assistance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Crime Scene Unit and the First Judicial Circuit Medical Examiners Office as is routine with any murder case.

As this Investigation remains active and ongoing, information is very limited at this time.

The Crestview Police Department is currently seeking any information that the public may have regarding this incident that will bring Jackson’s shooter to justice.
