Day 5 of no eating out/no ultra processed foods ✅

A Southern toast to begin the evening.

After the welcome and blessing, our guests were served a cordial and invited to raise a glass together.

Made with fig leaves picked from the chef’s own backyard, lemons, and vanilla bean steeped slowly and aged, it was such a thoughtful little taste of the South and a simple detail that set the tone for the night.

Slow down. Be present. Enjoy the people around you. And savor what is in front of you.

What if the magic of life is found in the ability to see joy in the littlest of moments?

The slow afternoons.

The coffee still warm in your cup.

The sound of little feet running through the house.

The windows down on a beautiful day.

The way the light comes through the kitchen window.

A meal around the table.

A child’s belly laugh.

A quiet conversation with someone you love.

The ordinary moments we are so quick to rush through.

Maybe a beautiful life isn’t built only in the big milestones, the vacations, the accomplishments, or the things we spend years waiting for.

Maybe it’s built in our ability to notice what is already here.

To slow down long enough to see it.

To recognize that so much of what we call ordinary today will someday be the very thing we miss.

Maybe the magic has been here all along.

One of my favorite moments of the night happened before a single course was served.

I got to welcome everyone and share a little bit about how The Table came to be, and then Coltin gave thanks to God and blessed the food.

It was simple, but it meant so much.

Because for us, the whole night was about more than a beautiful dinner. It was about gathering, gratitude, hospitality, and recognizing the goodness of God in all of it.
