“Bluebonnet Ranch”
Under a wide Texas sky, bluebonnets and other wildflowers spill across the countryside surrounding the old ranch stead. A weathered shed, windmill, and an open gate evoke generations gone by, while the winding road leads us onward. This painting celebrates the quiet beauty, history, and enduring character of rural Texas.

“Illumination”. Beyond the shadows, there is light -and sometimes an unexpected burst of beauty. Follow the light and let it illuminate the way.

“Goodbye, September.” See you next year. As summer slips into fall, the meadow erupts into one last celebration of color.

On these scorching hot last days of summer, when my other plants are waning, the Bougainvilleas are beautiful. The heat and drought seem to enhance their beauty, and butterflies love to visit their brilliant magenta blossoms. Beauty flourishes even from a drought-stricken, parched earth. I tried to capture this moment so I could revisit it all year long.

“Wildflower Fever Dreams.” On a bright, sunny day, can I just lie down in this happy field and become a part of the kaleidoscope of colors of God’s creation? And smell the perfume of a million wildflowers and listen to the humming of the honeybees? In my dreams…

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in Wales took my breath away in 2023. The trail followed along the coastal cliffs while waves crashed below. The Irish Sea reached far into the distant horizon and wildflowers like Sea Pink and yellow Gorse bushes lined our path, providing many miles of happy trails for Linda and me. Freedom. Beauty. Salt air. What could be better? I think this long-distance walk is my favorite so far.

“Happy Trails”. Walking across flower-strewn meadows in the Yorkshire Dales with a best friend. It was a lovely day.

Taking a rest break on the Coast to Coast Trail. Two of my “companions” that had come to feel like an extension of me (hat and hiking pole).
