We accidentally found our way into this beautiful historical building for a lunch stop, The Kansas City Union Station. It opened on October 30, 1914. At its World War II peak in 1945, over one million travelers and hundreds of thousands of annual passengers passed through before declining rail travel lead to its closure in 1985. After a massive $250 million restoration, it triumphantly reopened to the public in 1999 as a celebrated Civic asset. Train service officially returned via Amtrak in 2002 and the building is listed on the national register of historic places..
We had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed being in this beautiful, historical place!
Then we visited the National War World I museum . The museum is America’s official and largest institution dedicated to preserving the history, artifacts, and personal experiences of World War I. 🇺🇸

Badlands National Park in southwestern South Dakota was an unexpected surprise. It’s a scenic 30-35 mile drive featuring breathtaking overlooks and home to free roaming bison, bighorn sheep, pronghorn and black footed ferrets.
The Badlands national Park covers 244,000 acres!
It reminded us of the Grand Canyon.
I think everyone was in awe of Gods beautiful creation. 🙌

DEADWOOD! 🤠
YOU WERE SO MUCH FUN! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Deadwood, South Dakota is a legendary National Historic Landmark city in the Black Hills known for its wild 1870s Gold Rush past and famous frontier outlaws.
It was established in 1876 during the Black Hills Gold Rush, and after gold was found in a gulch filled with dead trees. We got to visit the largest gold mine, Homestake, and learn how the miner’s worked. Very interesting!
Deadwood attracted iconic old West figures including Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and Seth Bullock. Wild Bill was famously shot dead here.
It was such a fun town with so much to see and do! Next we visited The High Plains Western Heritage Center in Spearfish, South Dakota. This old West memorabilia with lots of history! It was a great day!
