Cullowhee United Methodist Church

Come out and help cut, split, load and/OR deliver firewood to neighbors in need TODAY starting in one hour at 8:30 and wrapping up at noon. Free breakfast and lunch. If you have a truck that you’re willing to use for delivery, that is greatly needed and appreciated!

WHEE Gather Harvest Party! Thanks to our Creation Care Team for hosting, Sheri Turk for decorating and Jennifer Hinton for making the main dish and dessert!

Thanks to everyone who attended our “Who Are We” conversations afterwards!

The Perennials had a fun outing to the Dillard House in Dillard, GA!

We hope folks (if you get a free cup of coffee at McDonalds, this is for you) will join us in Brevard to tour PARI, the astronomical research institute. On Thursday, October 22nd, we will head out from CUMC at 11am to head to Brevard. It wouldn’t be a Perennial outing without stopping for lunch. We’ll grab food at the Tipsy Taco, take our tour at 2, and return to CUMC by 5:15pm. The tour is $15 per person plus the cost of lunch. Please RSVP by October 15th. We hope to see you there!

This fall, we’re inviting everyone to participate in church-wide and community-wide conversation about our mission and values and what makes Cullowhee UMC who we are.

Whether you’ve been here for decades or just recently joined us, we want to hear from you.

Join us on September 30th following the Whee Gather meal.

If you can't make it in-person, you can share your thoughts digitally.

Who Are We Conversations We are listening for the stories and hopes that reveal who we are, why this church matters, and where God may be calling us next. If you aren’t sure whether or not you should participate, know that we want to hear from you, whether you are a long time member, first time visitor, active or inactive...

Our second opportunity to share love with our neighbors was with our JOY kids program. The kids worked really hard to make handmade cards and decorate gift bags stuffed with goodies that will be given to folks who need a little extra love right now. 🛍️🧡
Thanks for those who came to our Make and Take: Because You Matter bag party! We made bags for 11 of our friends from church who are going to love it!

When we were done, the kids loved playing with items that can be found in the Wesley Foundation Yard Sale. The Yard Sale is this Saturday, September 26th from 8am-noon in the large fellowship hall! We hope to see you there to support our college ministry!

This past Sunday, we had two opportunities to share some love with neighbors in our community.
The first one was at Sylva Pride. We’re grateful to partner with our friends from The Wesley Foundation to talk with folks and hand out goodies at the Pride booth. Thanks to everyone who signed up and came out to support! 🌈💗

Look for our post tomorrow to see what our second opportunity was! 😊

The ladies had a great time at the United Women in Faith salad supper! Thanks to Elaine and Steve White for hosting us!
