Today I woke up and my apartment was engulfed in smoke. My heart breaks for everyone in Northern Ontario who has lost everything. I’m thinking of my unhoused neighbours today, elders in my community, and folks with disabilities who are being most impacted.
My heart is so heavy with grief, I struggled to find the words to speak in this reel. The climate crisis is here and now. It couldn’t be more urgent.

As June comes to a close, we want to take a moment to highlight some of the rad history of q***r organizing by students and young people in so-called Canada! So naturally, we turned to The ArQuives | Canada’s LGBTQ2+ Archives 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
As community organizers, we have long recognized that our struggles are interconnected.

Football brings incredible joy and unity, but we must also challenge FIFA’s human rights abuses and exploitative corporate greed.
The tournament has increasingly become a tool for FIFA to profit from climate destruction, facs*m, racist immigration systems, and occupation. The joy and unity it inspires should drive systemic change: the short-term happiness we feel watching should fuel long-term progress toward a better, livable planet for all, not profit for a few.

As of today, the world has “achieved” its first TRILLIONAIRE. (Can’t wrap your head around how big a trillion is? One million seconds in the past is less than two weeks ago, but one billion seconds takes us back to 1994, and one trillion seconds goes back to approximately 29,000 BCE, before recorded history.)
Corporate profits continue to soar, the wealth gap keeps widening, and the rest of us are struggling to pay our rent and afford basic groceries. That’s by design, and these things are all connected. Affordability and sustainability aren’t competing goals, they’re complementary ones.
