Sure, volunteering with Greenspace Dallas helps us to clean up our parks and rivers, and to help nature thrive. But there’s a personal payback too. Research makes a solid case. Volunteers experience reduced stress and depression, improved cognitive function, and lower mortality rates. Studies also note that these benefits are linked to social connection and a dedicated volunteering threshold around 8.5 hours per month, or 100 hours per year.
