Expecting neurotypical behavior from someone with AuDHD is like expecting the same output from a completely different operating system

We just do not work that way and the sooner people understand that the better things get for everyone involved 😅

Nobody warned me that “anything” included a late diagnosis and a whole new understanding of every single thing about myself

Getting diagnosed as an adult with AuDHD is a journey honestly
You go from thinking something is wrong with you to realizing there was never anything wrong with you at all
Just wired differently and finding out about it a little late 😅

Autism in women does not always look the way people expect 🧠💙

Sometimes it looks like this 👇🏼

✅ The shower has to happen before bed, hair wet and everything, or sleep is simply not happening
✅ Huffing your cat is a legitimate calming strategy and you stand by it
✅ Being extremely particular about smells to the point where the wrong scent can ruin your entire mood

Hold up! A break from my current content so you can see that There are vacations… and then there are the ones that quietly change you.

Oahu was one of those trips. From the North Shore to Waikiki, every moment felt like something we’d want to remember forever. We stayed at the iconic Moana Surfrider and experienced unforgettable chef’s tasting menus at Azure, La Mer, House Without a Key, and Duke’s.

Grateful for every memory, every meal, every sunset, and most of all, sharing it all with you. Love you forever, Lindsay Burns. 🤍

There is actually a really beautiful reason behind it. 🤍

For level 1 autistic people patterns are not just visually appealing, they are easier for the brain to process and can even help regulate emotions.

It is not a quirk. It is the brain finding what feels safe and familiar and holding onto it.
Once you understand the why behind it, so much else starts to make sense too 🫶🏻

AuDHD really does not handle interruptions gracefully and I have made peace with that. 😭

The thought was right there. I had it. It was fully formed and everything.
And then it just left. No warning, no trace, nothing.

AuDHD really said we are not finishing that thought today. 🤍

It is not laziness and it is not a lack of trying — sometimes the brain just goes into its own mode and everything else becomes background noise.
