You showed up for them. 💛
Yesterday, 54 donors gave $28,710 to FPC Day School for North Texas Giving Day.
That means more tools to explore with. More materials to build with. More ideas to test. More questions to ask. And more opportunities for our teachers to follow a child’s curiosity wherever it leads.
And you made it pretty fun along the way.
Our third annual Culinary Kids Cook-Off brought families, teachers, and children together for cooking, tasting, games, prizes, and plenty of friendly competition. Congratulations to the Curious Culinary Wizards 🔴, our 2026 Cook-Off champions!
Thank you to everyone who gave, cooked, volunteered, shared, cheered, played, or simply showed up.
You made more possible for the children who fill these classrooms every day.
It’s always been for them. 💛

🏆 WE HAVE A CULINARY KIDS CHAMPION! 🏆
What a night, Day School!
Our third annual Culinary Kids Cook-Off brought our community together for an afternoon of cooking, tasting, playing, creating, and some very friendly competition.
Families won some pretty great prizes, including $300 off tuition, gift cards, and more. Our littlest guests had a reading rug, made their own yogurt parfaits and Chex Mix at our maker stations, played games, and our four Culinary Kids teams served up some seriously impressive food.
And now, the results...
🥇 CURIOUS CULINARY WIZARDS | RED TEAM
Katherine + Owen’s Cinnamon Rolls
The cinnamon rolls earned the top score from our judges and made the Curious Culinary Wizards our 2026 Culinary Kids Cook-Off Champions!
🥈 LITTLE LEGENDARY FOODIES | GREEN TEAM
Helen, Eden + Jane’s Korean Meal
Bibimbap, miso soup, cucumber salad, and Korean-style meatballs made for a beautifully plated meal and a VERY close second place. Just one point separated first and second!
🌮 TINY TASTE TITANS | BLUE TEAM
Adriel, Michaela + Leslie brought a Texas favorite to the table with tacos!
🍕 MINI FLAVOR MAKERS | YELLOW TEAM
The Shaw family went straight for the kid-friendly favorites with mini pizza bites + banana pudding!
A huge thank you to every family who cooked, every judge who tasted, every teacher who joined the fun, and every family who came out to celebrate with us. You made our third Culinary Kids Cook-Off one to remember.
BUT THERE’S ONE COMPETITION LEFT TO FINISH. 👀

FPC Day School is full of curiosity.
Your gift gives our teachers more ways to follow curiosity where it leads.
More materials for building and experimenting. More technology for exploring new ideas. More resources for our STEAM Lab. More opportunities for children to solve a problem, work together, and try something new.
That’s what you’re helping build today.
Our North Texas Giving Day goal is $40,000 for STEM curriculum enrichment and our STEAM Lab, building on FPC Day School’s commitment as the nation’s first and only preschool to earn STEM certification from the National Institute for STEM Education.
You can help build what’s next.
Give today through your child’s Culinary Kids team, and your gift will also help them climb the leaderboard.

What does STEM look like at age 3?
It looks like stacking something higher just to see if it will fall. Mixing two things together and watching what happens. Building it one way, deciding it doesn’t work, and trying another. Asking “why?” followed immediately by another “why?” And probably followed by a few more "whys?"
At FPC Day School, STEM learning begins with the way young children already experience the world: through play, investigation, questions, and discovery.
Those everyday moments give children opportunities to practice problem-solving, collaboration, persistence, creativity, and flexible thinking. That’s why this North Texas Giving Day, we’re raising $40,000 to enrich our STEM curriculum and STEAM Lab.
Because sometimes a pretty big idea starts with a very small question.
Help us build what’s next.

Social skills come from modeling and practice. Simple scripts help children feel confident with peers.
Try this: Role-play a friendship phrase (a single sentence or expression used to make a friend, show kindness, or solve a problem with a peer). For example: "Do you want to sit together at lunch?" or "Are you okay?"
This makes real-life conversations easier when trying them out in a safe space first.

Did you know childcare in Dallas County now costs nearly as much as in-state college tuition? Dallas Childcare Works is a plan created by the people and for the people to bring costs down, keep parents in the workforce, and end a crisis that costs our regional economy $4 billion every year.
Urge the Dallas County Commissioners to place Dallas Childcare Works on the November ballot by signing our petition:
http://bit.ly/4vLUTGv
Dallas Childcare Works could generate up to $132 million annually, creating a dedicated, sustainable funding source. This would:
-Expand access to affordable care
-Strengthen the workforce by supporting parent employment and stable childcare staffing
-Increase the availability of high-quality early learning environments
-Support long-term family economic mobility
