A positive pregnancy test doesn’t automatically erase the trauma of infertility.
After months or years of negative tests, treatments, loss, uncertainty, and waiting, finally seeing those two lines can bring enormous joy.
But it can also bring fear.
You may find yourself constantly worried that something will go wrong. Checking for symptoms. Struggling to believe the pregnancy is real. Feeling anxious before every appointment. Having a hard time celebrating milestones because you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Because infertility can leave an emotional imprint that doesn’t disappear the moment you become pregnant.
You can be incredibly grateful to be pregnant and still carry fear, grief, or anxiety from what it took to get here. Both can be true.
If pregnancy after infertility feels more complicated emotionally than you expected, that doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful. And you don’t have to wait until you’re struggling significantly to reach out for support.
🌿 Phoenix Health specializes in supporting families through infertility, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, postpartum, and the transitions in between.
Share this post to help someone understand that infertility doesn’t simply disappear after a positive pregnancy test. And if this feels familiar, reach out for support. You don’t have to carry it alone. 🤍

You’ve heard of adolescence. But why didn’t anyone tell you about matrescence?
We have a word for the awkward, hormonal phase of growing up called adolescence. Matrescence is the transition into motherhood, and it can be just as profound.
Your body changes. Your brain changes. Your priorities change. Your relationships change. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, you’re figuring out who you are now.
It’s time to give this profound evolution the language it deserves.
More women deserve to understand that before they become mothers, so they aren’t left wondering, “Why does this feel so much harder than I expected?” We need to talk about matrescence more openly, because having language for a major life transition can make you feel a whole lot less alone.
Did you know the word “matrescence” before becoming a mother? And if you didn’t, what do you wish someone had told you about becoming a mother?

Sometimes postpartum anxiety doesn’t look like anxiety. Sometimes it looks like being a “really good mom.”
Checking the monitor one more time.
Googling every symptom.
Worrying when someone else holds the baby.
Imagining every possible worst-case scenario.
Staying awake even when the baby is finally asleep.
Postpartum anxiety doesn’t always look like a panic attack. Sometimes it looks like being constantly on high alert. Reassuring yourself over and over. Feeling like you can never fully relax. Or feeling like it’s your job to prevent anything bad from happening.
And because these things can look like “normal mom worry,” they can be easy to dismiss. But you don’t have to wait until you’re at your breaking point to reach out for support.
Postpartum anxiety is treatable. If anxiety is making motherhood feel harder than it needs to, consider talking to a therapist who understands maternal mental health.
🌿 At Phoenix Health, we specialize in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, pregnancy loss, and the transition into parenthood.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Birth trauma can come from feeling powerless, unheard, unsafe, rushed, dismissed, or afraid, even when everything ultimately turned out “fine.”
If your birth still weighs on you, you don’t have to minimize it just because there was a happy ending. ❤️

Nobody warned me that postpartum could make me feel this angry.
Postpartum rage can be hard to explain. It can look like snapping over something tiny. Feeling irritated by every sound. Losing your patience faster than you ever used to. Feeling touched out, overstimulated, exhausted, or like you need everyone to just STOP.
And then comes the guilt.
Why did I react like that?
What is wrong with me?
Why can’t I handle this?
My children deserve better than this.
But postpartum rage isn’t a character flaw. It can be a sign that your emotional and nervous systems are overwhelmed.
At Phoenix Health, we provide specialized perinatal mental health support for pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, parenting stress, and more. We offer individual, couples, and family therapy with licensed therapists who understand the unique mental health challenges that can come with parenthood.
If you’re struggling with postpartum rage, you don’t have to wait until things get worse to ask for help. Click the link in our bio to learn more about Phoenix Health and schedule a free 15-minute consultation. 🤍

Postpartum doesn’t always look like bringing a baby home.
After a miscarriage or pregnancy loss, your body is still recovering from pregnancy, birth, and significant physical and hormonal changes. But because there’s no baby to bring home, the postpartum experience can be overlooked, sometimes even by the person experiencing it.
You are still healing.
You are still postpartum.
And you still deserve care and support.
Phoenix Health offers therapy for individuals, couples, and families impacted by pregnancy loss. You don’t have to navigate grief alone. Click the link in our bio to learn more about how we can help. 🤍

Some of the hardest parts of motherhood happen inside your head.
Perinatal OCD is more common than many people realize. It can look like constantly checking on your baby, avoiding certain places or activities, Googling for reassurance, replaying situations in your mind, or feeling like you need to be completely certain that nothing bad will happen.
The hardest part? You may feel too ashamed to tell anyone. You may even worry that having these thoughts means something about who you are as a mother. But you can be a good mother and still struggle with your mental health.
Perinatal OCD is treatable, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. 💙
At Phoenix Health, we offer individual therapy for perinatal OCD and other perinatal mental health concerns, with clinicians who understand the unique challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood.
