Back on track this week at Watkins Glen. 🏁

New weekend. Fresh mindset. Same goal.

Road America was a solid weekend overall for the Spec MX-5 team. The cars showed really good speed through testing and qualifying, but an unfortunate situation led to 2 of our drivers receiving qualifying penalties that put us further back than we should’ve been on the starting grid.

Even with that setback, all 3 drivers fought hard and made the most of the weekend. Lincoln Larson finished P6 and P8, Matt Stretch brought home P8 and P9, and Jake Faulkner impressed in his class debut with P11 and P12 while running right with his experienced teammates.

A lot of positives to build on as we head to Watkins Glen with a new driver lineup and our sights set on that first win of the season. 🏁

Mid-Ohio had its highs and lows, but overall a huge step forward for the team. We showed strong pace from the start, qualifying both cars inside the top 15 before an engine failure on the #98 forced a DNF in Race 1. Stallone battled through a tough race and brought home P15.

Race 2 was a much stronger day all around. Stallone started P6 and crossed the line in P4, the best MX-5 Cup finish and highest professional finish of his career so far, before a post-race penalty moved him to P14 officially. Stretch drove an incredible race from P38 to finish inside the top 10 and earn the Penske Shocking Performance award.

A lot to be proud of this weekend. The speed is there, the progress is real, and this team keeps taking steps forward every time we hit the track. 🏁

The June Sprints are here, and the Spec MX-5 team is headed to one of the most iconic tracks in North American road racing.

Another strong weekend for the SMX team. Lincoln Larson charged from P8 to P3 in both races, adding two more podiums and bringing his season total to 5. Gavin Vaughan put his head down after a tough Friday qualifying session and fought his way from P19 to P7 in both races.

Both drivers showed great pace in the most competitive SMX field we’ve had all season. Looking forward to carrying this momentum into Road America. 🏁
