🌟The hat that will CAPtivate your newborn’s gaze
Malcolm and I (Catherine) are both nurses who recently had a baby (Vienna). Our little one inspired us to create hats with a high contrast under brim, so that you will always have a pattern on the go or when your hands are full.
When our firstborn was around 4 weeks old back in 2023, I had an idea: what if I put a high-contrast pattern on the underside of a hat for my newborn to look at? 🖤🤍
At that age, her vision was still developing. She could see best at around 8–12 inches from her face, her vision was still blurry, and her ability to distinguish colors was limited.
I wanted to give her something bold and visually stimulating to look at and study while I was holding her, my hands were full, or we were on the go.
And that’s where the hat came in 🧢
