BH EVERYDAY HISTORY MAKERS SPECIAL
Our votes matter and we need them now more than ever.
61 years ago, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was passed into law — made possible by civil rights activists like Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Fannie Lou Hamer, Congressman John Lewis, and the countless others who marched on Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama and beyond.
Our movement has made progress in the last six decades, but just this year, hundreds of bills have been introduced in statehouses across the country that would make it harder for us to vote. They’re counting on us to stop paying attention. They’re counting on us to be quiet. But we can’t give up our power when we know how much is at stake.
Voting rights protect every other right we have — from the cost of living and healthcare to our civil and reproductive rights. And with over 80,000 midterm elections happening this year, all of these issues and more are on the ballot.

Every July 18th marks Nelson Mandela’s birthday (born 1918) and has been observed as an international day since 2009, when the UN General Assembly designated it in recognition of his contribution to the culture of peace and freedom.

Ideas are completely worthless without ex*****on.
You can dream, plan, and discuss your goals for months, but a single inch of raw movement beats it all.
Break the loop of overthinking, stack one small win today, and keep the momentum alive.
