Carlos Girod, M.D. joined UTSW in 1997 and is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is also the Associate Vice President for Parkland Health Affairs at UT Southwestern and holds the Ron Anderson, M.D. Professorship in Clinical Care and Education at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Do you recognize this woman? The photograph was taken in 2007 and she is reviewing a journal publication about citalopram use for depression.

When it opened in 1989, Zale Lipshy University Hospital served as the first official teaching hospital of UTSW. It was a private referral hospital designed with patient comfort in mind.

Though no longer printed out and viewed with a light box, our students still get hands on training in how to accurately read x-rays.

For decades UTSW has been home to faculty who are researchers with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Some even became Nobel prize winners!

Do you remember this past Match Day? On that day countless women across the country continued their science dreams by getting picked for their chosen residencies.

Dr. Melanie Cobb is a professor of Pharmacology and holds the Jane and Bill Browning Jr. Chair in Medical Science. Her research interests are in cellular regulatory mechanisms, cancer biology, and more.

For our next collection showcase we are with the Department of Surgery. This collection has several subcollections based on each division. It includes documents, photos, lectures, and even related rare books.
