I hired a "Master Plumber" to install a new main water line. Instead of soldering the copper, he used a battery-powered ProPress tool for every connection. I was expecting to see a torch and solder, so I was surprised when the entire job was done with press fittings.

He told me ProPress is an approved, long-lasting method that's just as reliable as soldering when installed correctly. Is that true, or would you still prefer traditional soldered joints for a main water line?
