Some Hachie librarians got to hear Alan Gratz speak today. He talked mainly about his newest book, War Games. He also showed us pieces of the graphic novel for Refugee...AMAZING! Seeing three of our Howard students there was an added bonus!

If you have never read an Alan Gratz novel, you can find some on Sora.

It is an exciting and historic time at Nicholas P. Sims Library. The Institute of Museum and Library Services has announced the winners of the 2025 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.

In the summer of 2024, we were honored to learn that Congressman Jake Ellzey had nominated Nicholas P. Sims Library for the National Medal for Museum and Library Services.

To be nominated was an honor. To win affirms just how special Sims Library is to our community.

Sims Library would not be what it is today without the unwavering support of the City of Waxahachie and the generations of City Council Members who have recognized the value of our library. We are also deeply grateful to our community partners and patrons, whose support and belief in our mission truly make all of this possible.

We are incredibly proud to bring this national recognition home to Waxahachie. Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming celebrations as we share this achievement with the entire community.
