❤️ Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day.

As we celebrate 40 years of AIN, we’re reminded just how much the story of HIV has changed. Thanks to advances in treatment, people living with HIV are living longer, healthier lives—and today, a growing number of people with HIV are age 50 and older.

But aging with HIV can bring unique challenges, from managing healthcare and other age-related conditions to facing isolation, financial insecurity, and the lasting effects of stigma.

At AIN, we believe everyone deserves to age with dignity, connection, compassion, and care.

For four decades, we’ve walked alongside people living with HIV, adapting as their needs have changed while remaining committed to the whole person. Through nutritious meals, transportation, case management, community, and access to healthcare and other resources, we continue working to ensure that no one has to navigate HIV, or aging, alone.

Today, we honor the resilience of long-term survivors, remember those we have lost, and celebrate the progress that has made growing older with HIV possible.

Aging is a privilege.

🎉 IT’S FINALLY HERE — NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY! 🎉

Today, as we ask our Community to give, we decided it was also the perfect day for AIN to give back.

We’re thrilled to officially introduce ✨ DAIRE TO WEAR ✨, our new clothing program through the Daire Center!

Today, our Clients had the opportunity to “shop” from a fabulous selection of clothing generously donated by our community—choosing items that fit not only their needs, but their personalities and style. Watching shopping bags fill up and seeing the smiles was a beautiful reminder that something as simple as a new outfit can mean so much more than clothes. ❤️

During our trial run, several Clients returned the next morning just to model their new outfits. One of our unhoused Clients told us he planned to stay at a shelter that night so he could shower before putting on his new clothes.

That moment stayed with us.

Because sometimes a fresh shirt, clean jeans, or new socks can provide something much bigger: confidence, dignity, motivation, and a fresh start.

And now, we need YOU.

Daire to Wear receives no dedicated program funding—it is entirely Community supported.
