Creamier, richer, and made for dishes that need that extra oomph. 🥥✨

Why coconut cream instead of coconut milk? Coconut cream has a higher concentration of coconut and less water, giving you a thicker texture, richer flavor, and that silky finish that makes curries, sauces, soups, and desserts taste next level.

Quick stop at HEB? Let me save you from a rice mistake 👀

❌ Long grain rice — dry, stiff, and honestly... kind of sad next to a good curry
✅ Jasmine rice — soft, fragrant, slightly sticky, and the ONLY rice that belongs next to real Thai food

Here’s the thing: jasmine rice isn’t just “Thai rice” for looks. That floral aroma and delicate texture is what soaks up curry, balances spice, and makes every bite taste like it came straight from a street stall in Bangkok. Long grain rice just doesn’t have the same soul (or the same job) 🍚

So next time you’re in the rice aisle at HEB — grab the jasmine. Your pad krapow, your curry, your fried rice will thank you 💛

And once you’ve got the rice right? Pair it with a sauce that brings the real Thai flavor home → chefnikky.shop 🌶️

What are you cooking with your jasmine rice this week? Tell me below!

Kob Kun Ka 🙏

Real nourishment starts before the first bite. 🍜 That’s the S.O.S. of eating; Sense the aromas, Observe the colors and care in every dish, Savor each bite instead of rushing through it. It’s a philosophy I wrote into every page of “Thai Food and Travel with Chef Nikky” because the best recipes teach you how to eat, not just how to cook.

Thank you to for such a beautiful evening of dinner and mindfulness!

Eating my way through Taipei, one bowl at a time. 🇹🇼🍜

Moon Moon Food was one of those meals that reminded me why I love traveling through food. From the chewy noodles to the fresh clams and comforting broths, everything felt simple, local, and packed with flavor.

As a chef, I’m always paying attention to the little things — texture, balance, technique, and the ingredients that make a dish memorable. Taiwan has given me SO much inspiration already.

Save Moon Moon Food for your Taipei food list. ✈️🤍

Everyone asks me for restaurant recommendations when they travel. I always give them this instead: book a cooking class.

This one was at Cookinn in Taiwan, and it might have been my favorite hour of the entire trip. You don’t just eat the food, you learn why it works. The ratios, the techniques, the little tricks that turn a home cook into someone who actually understands the cuisine instead of just visiting it.

I walked out with a cookbook, a few new tricks for my own kitchen, and a much better answer than “where should I eat” for anyone planning a trip.

So here’s my real number one travel tip: skip a reservation, book a class instead. You’ll remember it long after the meal is gone.

How to eat a chicken wing like a Thai 🇹🇭🍗🔥

Rule #1: don’t be shy. Pick it up, get in there, and make sure you don’t leave the best crispy, saucy bites behind. 😂

In Thailand, food is meant to be enjoyed—bold flavors, messy fingers and all. And when the wings are this good? You eat every. single. bite.

Who else cleans the bone? 👀
