A stronger Dallas starts with women business owners. Join NAWBO DFW on Wednesday, October 14 for a nonpartisan evening of voter education, connection, and civic leadership.
Meet our featured speakers:
â Lynn McBee, Workforce Czar, City of Dallas
Appointed by Mayor Eric Johnson in 2022, Lynn leads efforts to close skills gaps, align training with growing industries, and expand support for jobseekers. She is CEO of Young Women's Preparatory Network, which grew from 5 to 12 campuses under her leadership with a 100% college acceptance rate. She chairs The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center and has given more than 50,000 volunteer hours across 30+ nonprofits.
â Kate Winsor, Former NAWBO DFW Chapter President
Kate is a four-time business founder and President of Cadence Studios, a family-owned audiovisual production company. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. đď¸
As women business owners and leaders, we pour so much into our businesses, families, teams, and communities. This month, NAWBO DFW is asking you to pour some of that care back into yourself.
Swipe through for four simple reminders, then take one step this week: schedule the appointment, have the conversation with your healthcare provider, and encourage another woman to do the same.
đ Tag a woman in your life who deserves this reminder.
This post is meant to encourage, not to give medical advice. The USPSTF screening recommendation applies to women at average risk; your healthcare provider can help you decide what's right for you.
Have you made your voting plan? đłď¸
NAWBO DFWâs Director of Public Policy & Advocacy, Lisa Ratcliffe, reminds us to show up and make our voices heard.
Put these Texas election dates on your calendar:
⢠October 5: Last day to register to vote
⢠October 19â30: Early voting
⢠November 3: Election Day
Take a few minutes today to check your registration, review voting information, and plan when youâll go.
