Nexus Community

Congratulations to our children’s quizzers who participated in the district quiz meet today! And thank you Pastor Jan for your ministry as quiz director to our children.

Hello Nexus Family! Please watch this 2-minute video produced by the USA / Canada Regional Office of the Church of the Nazarene. It concerns an upcoming corporate prayer emphasis during the 50 days between Easter (3/31) and Pentecost (5/19).

Hey church family! With the partnership of brother Tyrone, I am launching a midweek Bible study for our neighbors living on Forest Lane: Thursdays, 11am. Please pray for our 2-person Bible study to increase in number and to be a blessing to many!

Congratulations to our Nexus Bible quizzers who all earned gold medals in today’s quiz meet at Tyler Hilltop church.

Hey Church Family! Our new semester of ESL classes at the Nexus Hub is underway! On average, we serve approximately 25 adults and 15 kids during each session: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00-6:15pm. And we need your help as a trusted volunteer in this ministry!

It you are interested to check out the good work going on at the Nexus Hub, please refer to the Google Form link below to sign up to visit us on an upcoming Tuesday or Thursday. We currently have openings to assist with chid care (ages 0-5) and with homework help for school-age kids.

Hey Church Family! Here's a recent update from our sister organization, Nexus Neighborhood Outreach. It concerns our vehicle assistance program. Please check out the good news below, and join me in thanking God for the ways He continues to use our presence in northeast Dallas to bless our neighbors.

One of our valued partners is OnRAMP DFW. This organization works with advocates from local charitable organizations like ours to identify people who are working hard to take significant steps towards self-sufficiency, but who need a vehicle to continue that journey.

Today, I am pleased to share that Nexus Neighborhood Outreach and OnRAMP DFW have partnered together to bless Mr. & Mrs. Mawj with a new set of wheels!

The Mawjs have three small children and recently resettled in northeast Dallas as refugees from abroad. Nexus Neighborhood Outreach served as the advocate for the Mawj family, and OnRAMP DFW donated the vehicle! We are grateful!

I (Pastor Jamie) thoroughly enjoyed meeting new friends and representing Nexus Community & Nexus Neighborhood Outreach at today's Richardson Interfaith Alliance (RIA) meeting, hosted at East Plano Islamic Center.

One item that was discussed is how various houses of worship and faith groups are coming together to provide warming stations for homeless people during the cold weather. Please reach out to me if you'd like to learn more!

Nexus church family-

Due to the frigid temperatures forecasted for tomorrow morning as well as the possibility of freezing rain in the early afternoon, we are canceling our in-person worship service.

Instead, we will be holding a virtual service over Zoom at the same time - 10:45am. Feel free to join the meeting as early as 10:30am to greet one another. See Zoom meeting information below.
