What changes when workforce has a seat at the table while education, technology and talent systems are being designed—not after?
Next week, Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas will bring that perspective to EdTech Week 2026, where Lynn Hoffman will participate in conversations on both Modern Apprenticeship and Workforce Pell.
In her latest thought-leadership piece, Lynn explores a larger idea: employers, education, workforce, technology and funding may enter the talent ecosystem from different places, but ultimately we are serving the same learners, employers and economy.
The opportunity is to design around their journey—not our individual systems.

We recently took the stage at the Apprenticeship Texas Conference to discuss how modern training models are transforming current workforces. As organizations navigate rapid technological shifts, our key takeaway is clear: upskilling your current team is the ultimate strategy to train and retain top talent. 💡
Here are the four major lessons we learned from this initiative:
1️⃣ AI is No Longer Optional: AI is now an essential, non-negotiable component of workforce training.
2️⃣ Scalable Foundations Work Safely: Foundational AI training can span different industries, instilling core tech capabilities safely and consistently.
3️⃣ Meet Learners Where They Are: Success relies on building adaptive models that meet apprentices at their specific starting points.
4️⃣ Flexibility Outlasts Institutional Change: Built-in model flexibility ensures teams stay united and support one another through organizational shifts.
📌The Economic Impact: Upskilling vs. Pipeline Building
Because this initiative focused entirely on the current workforce, the economic goal wasn’t about building future pipelines—it was about strengthening existing businesses from within. By reskilling and upskilling active workers, we give them the vertical mobility to advance their careers.
The ultimate benefit? Employers build a significantly more resilient business and gain a powerful mechanism to both train and retain their best people.🤝
