Best bites of food I have had in the few times i’ve been to NOLA.

New Orleans is one of our favorite places to eat in the country, so my wife and I find ourselves driving there for several meals at least once a year. Here are a collection of our favorite bites from all our trips.

Dakar is the 4th best restaurant in North America and has Serigne Mbaye at the helm. A Senagalese inspired tasting menu that bridges the gap between african and cajun/creole cuisine. One of the best meals I’ve had this year. Dakar NOLA

A sandwich that doesn’t really need an introduction. TURKEY AND THE WOLF/mason h Collard Melt always hits.

Shrimp po-boys are one of my favorite sandwiches and Domilises Poboys⚜️ makes my favorite one fa sho.

Top 3 Fried Chicken in the world. Don’t sleep on the Chicken Sandwich! Willie Mae's NOLA

Fairly new and super hyped soft serve joint specializing in Cookies with Soft Serve. Super Witch Ice Cream Co.

From the folks who brought you Turkey & The Wolf, a casual breakfast concept. molly's rise and shine

Another super hyped spot. The Crab Beignet was so good, Nida wanted it twice (that never happens.) Loretta's Authentic Pralines

THE beignet. Cafe Du Monde

A must have Seafood experience in Nola. PecheNOLA became an instant classic since they opened and not much has changed. Just a great seafood experience all around.

Finally made it to Brennan's Restaurant on our most recent trip. Loved the entire brunch experience. Crab Omelette was outstanding.

Drago's Seafood Restaurant makes our favorite charbroiled oysters. Multiple locations makes it convenient.

The definition of a New Orleans institution. Love the po-boys here. I prefer the Shrimp po-boy, but pictured here is their signature James Brown…. Half Shrimp, Half BBQ Beef. Parkway Bakery & Tavern

French Dips now getting dipped at laluchatx every Friday!

La Lucha recently launched Friday lunches in which they offer nothing, but French Dip Sandwiches served two different ways (and fries.)

East Coast Style: caramelized onions and melted cheese

West Coast Style: horseradish mayo and jus

I for one am a big fan of when restaurants use a time they would otherwise be closed, to serve beef sandwiches 😁

Catch these every Friday 11 am- 2 pm

Sunday brunch vibes call for the pancake stack everyone is talking about at State of Grace.

fordfry and Bobby Matos have built a restaurant group that has really solidified its reputation for serving some of Houston’s best pancakes across all of their concepts, each done just a little differently.

For Sunday brunch, we decided to check out the offering at one of their more upscale spots, State of Grace (first visit since Ryan Lachaine took over.) In addition to the famous pancakes, don’t skip the biscuits or hushpuppies.

A few weeks back, I finally got a chance to try the The Bread Club in Dallas. This bakery is brought you by the same folks behind the Michelin starred, Mamani. Overall they were mostly hit, vibe was unmatched, and I would absolutely return again. Not a lot of bakeries in Texas I can think of putting out pastries of this caliber.

-The Breakfast Sandwich
-Pistachio Pain Suisse
-Spicy Chicken Special
-Plain Croissant, Kougin-Aman, Chocolate “B” Croissant, Pistachio Pain Suisse

A very special dinner at one of New York’s premier Indian Restaurants. Big fan of what Unapologetic Foods has done for the Indian food landscape and this East Village spot had been on my list for a long time.

-Bhatti Da Murgh: These lolipop like, bone-in Chicken pieces were my favorite starter. Crispy and seasoned to perfection.

-Wagyu Bihari Kebab: Not usually a fan of Bihari, but they used a Wagyu Ribeye and you can’t really go wrong there

-Curry Leaf Crab: Felt like Crabby take on a classic, Indian Fish Curry

-Queens Mushroom: or Bhatti Kumbh. Mushroom’s nicely seasoned and atop a bed of hung yogurt

-Goat Biryani: not much explanation needed here, but the Kid Goat meat was perfection

-Mawa Molten Lava Cake: or something like that. Was amazing

-Kulfi: A fun take on Kulfi. We chose Strawberry dip

Thank you to the team at Adda NYC for such a wonderful experience. Thank you also Mayank Istwal for making it happen.

James Beard Award winning Chef, operates truly one of my favorite restaurants in the Houston area. Every experience at has been better than the last and for my last visit I got a chance to try out their $85 tasting menu. BOTB is located in Spring, Tx… roughly about 30 miles from Downtown, but trust me when I say it’s worth every single mile traveled and minute spent driving.
