When it comes to longevity medicine, oral health needs to be addressed as well as part of the bigger picture of overall health. Many chronic diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, autoimmune issues, gut health, cancers, pregnancy complications, and sleep apnea all have oral health connections and bi-directional links.

Today I am grateful not for where I am, but for what it took to get here. The sacrifices, consistency, hard work building a business, missed moments with family, learning, growing, all with the mission to improve the health and quality of life for my patients and my team. It excites me and is rewarding to know we can make a difference in the lives of our patients.

Longevity medicine has a blind spot.
We obsess over biomarkers, wearables, sleep scores, supplements — genuinely useful tools for understanding what’s happening inside the body. But scroll through most longevity content and there’s one system that rarely comes up: the mouth.
That’s a real gap, because your mouth isn’t separate from the rest of you. Inflammation in the gums doesn’t stay in the gums — it travels. The same bacteria behind gum disease shows up again and again in research on heart disease, blood sugar regulation, and brain aging. The bacteria living in your mouth are in constant conversation with the bacteria in your gut. Even how well you breathe and sleep at night is shaped by your bite and your airway.
None of this means a dental visit matters more than your sleep or your diet. It means it’s part of the same system — and leaving it out of the conversation means missing real, useful information about what’s actually going on in your body.
I made this video because I think the mouth deserves a bigger seat at the longevity table. Watch it now (link in bio) — and if you’ve never thought of a dental visit as a longevity appointment, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think afterward. 👇
