When Compass joined the El Mirage community, we knew that the Northwest Valley YMCA was going to be our neighbor, so we asked a question: what do your members need most?
The answer was one word: shade.
We're honored to fund a permanent shade structure over the outdoor basketball court — giving El Mirage families back a space that Arizona's summer takes away for months at a time. It's the community's most-requested park amenity, and it means preschoolers get outside, coaches keep practice on schedule and a court built for this community actually gets used. 🏀

"For me, it helps me a lot being a mom."
This month's Frontliner of the Month, Maria, leads a crew for Sundt Construction, Inc. on one of our sites. She's got two kids of her own and a crew that skews young.
"I really understand them a lot because I've got kids. I kind of understand how everybody's been changing."
So when someone shows up having an off day, Maria doesn't push. "Maybe you can give them a different assignment that's not quite as critical that day, and help them along with their job too."
That instinct, noticing, then adjusting is what our Frontliners program is built around. Safety and mental wellness were never two separate things out here. The person who spots that you're off is the same person keeping you safe.
Every morning she starts her crew with a quote and a thank you, and one question: why am I here? "We provide for our families."
It is National Self-Care Awareness Month, and on a job site, the best care usually comes from the person standing next to you.

In partnership with Meridian Community College, we are thrilled to launch Mississippi's first MEI Data Center Pathway Program.
This program was built for new-collar workers: the skilled technicians this industry needs who don't need a four-year degree to get there. 14 weeks. No experience required. Compass provided, full-tuition scholarships for the first cohort. In Texas, where the program started, graduates are in roles paying 30 to 50 percent above local median salaries.
These aren't just jobs. They're generational careers in an industry that isn't going anywhere, and the people of Meridian should benefit from the growth happening in their backyard.
