Stevens Park Village becomes 9th conservation district in Oak Cliff

https://oakcliff.advocatemag.com/2026/06/stevens-park-village-conservation-district/

Chad West: I won’t vote to leave Dallas City Hall for a vague promise 06/24/2026

As CM West points out, there is no data or dollar amounts for the cost of moving out of City Hall. Without this this information, we cannot agree with his assertion that staying will already cost more than moving.

However, Preservation Dallas agrees that the conversation surrounding redevelopment MUST have a comprehensive strategy. Preservation Dallas wants to make sure other areas of South Dallas - including the most adjacent Cedars Neighborhood - are not negatively impacted by the latent effects of "fast development" as we have seen with the Convention Center's imposition on our some of our only access to Oak Cliff from Downtown Dallas.

We all deserve to know what the strategy is, how it will affect residents and businesses, and ultimately who the City Hall site is most valuable to: developers? or Dallasites?

Chad West: I won’t vote to leave Dallas City Hall for a vague promise City of Dallas' poor planning is hurting downtown and north Oak Cliff.

Breaking News: We are cautiously optimistic. But you should probably still make sure your council member wants Dallas City Hall repaired!
