Divas Read 2 Book Club located in Dallas, TX was established in 2002. A group of women who get together to Read, Relax and Rejoice.
We are a seasonal Book Club that meets October-March. Open House for new members is in September. Divas Read 2 are women who are Dedicated, Innovative, Vibrant, Assertive and Successful. We get together to Read, Relax, and Rejoice. We are a seasonal book club that meets from October thru March. Meetings are held the last Sunday of each month from 3pm-5pm. Our Vision is to become a highly visible organization that promotes literacy, and build solid relationships by networking with book clubs and other literary organizations and institutions. We support African American Authors and their works, as well as a diversity of other Authors.

Some books make us uncomfortable, challenge what we’ve been taught, and introduce us to lives beyond our own. That’s exactly why access to them matters. 📚
As Banned Books Week begins, works by Black authors continue to face removal from school shelves and reading lists. Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye, Angie Thomas’ The Hate U Give, and Tiffany D. Jackson’s Grown are among the titles that have faced restrictions, joining a much longer history of Black literature being challenged.
We’re revisiting essential reads from Toni Morrison, Audre Lorde, Alice Walker, Ta-Nehisi Coates, George M. Johnson, and more that have sparked conversation, confronted difficult truths, and left their mark on generations of readers.
