It’s about time we took a stance on a pretty big (& growing) issue in the small business world as of late- AI.🚫While I’ve never gone out of my way to support it, it’s getting to be everywhere.

One thing I’m getting to be really sick of as a market coordinator, is AI event flyers! They’re inaccurately representing the venues & events they’re being produced for, they’re being pushed by scammers for fake events because they take zero effort to create, & the real ones are being used by people who are supposed to be creating a productive space for small businesses & yet their flyer doesn’t reflect that.
I understand paying an artist for your graphics isn’t always in the budget, but ⬇️ this image took 5 minutes to make on Canva. All of our graphics are made in house, & while I’m not outsourcing to a small artist for our images- they’re still being made by a person! When you support these events you are supporting a human every step of the way, & to me that’s something that matters. Especially when you’re working with small businesses, where the whole point is everything you do helps to support someone’s dream.
It’s also taking over vendor spaces in small, but noticeable ways. I never thought I’d see business models being based off of a robot’s imagination.

If you use AI, you’re lazy. & you lack creativity. Those things don’t belong in a world intended for small businesses to thrive.✨🌙

Generally, AI is garbage. It’s not reliable, it generates crappy images that all look the same & it’s not really worth using behind the scenes either if you’ve ever fact checked what it says. It’s making small businesses lives harder, taking business away from people, & taking the connection out of a lot of what we do. So we are officially standing against AI, in the interest of us & our vendors.
If you post a personalized AI flyer for our events, we will not be sharing it. We send out flyers to all of our vendors to share for the events they’re scheduled to be a part of.🫶🏻Additionally, if it’s evident that your business uses AI to operate you will not be accepted to our events & if it’s discovered after you’re approved you will not be welcomed back.

Well it’s official- we’ve fallen in love with Goblin & have decided to make his Doggie Daycation a Doggie Staycation!🐾He will be attending tonight’s Artisan Market @ The Sound with us for a part 2 of his little adventure.✨🌙
