The Garland Square Pickers is a 501c3 non profit organization committed to preserving bluegrass music for young and old generations through schloarships, workshops, and weekly jams at the Downtown Garland Square. Founded by the late Jim Paul Miller, the Garland Square Pickers have continued sharing his passion for this American musical genre through various efforts such as the Jim Paul Miller Scholarship, which is presented to aspiring young musicians through donations at the annual Jim Paul Miller Memorial Bluegrass Show. Along with the show and the monthly jams on the Downtown Garland Square from April-October, the Garland Square Pickers also provide educational workshops geared toward those furthering their musical abilities.
