Hiii! It’s me! SOOKIE!

Mom has been back home since a week now, after being gone for 3 weeks! We all tought she would never come back! 😱

She brought a bunch of weird stuff with her. A cane, something that snips things from the floor, something she holds on to with wheels and that she walks with too. That one scares me though 🥵

The first few days back, mom cried a lot. I stared at her wondering why she was crying but my husis explained that mom had a lot of pain going on 😢

While she was in the hospital, we lost my furry sister, CALLIE. She was 19 1/2. We also almost lost JELLY who developed a sinus infection, 104F fever and spent a week at the clinic. Even the vet thought she wouldn’t make it… but she did! One morning, Sabrina sent a picture to mom in the hospital to show her JELLY’s head. Her sinus infection had made her develop 2 big abscesses above her right eye 😝. JELLY was on two antibiotics and pulled through. She is fine now 😃

Mom exercises daily and trains her legs and arms to be stronger. She said her back is not too bad; what is painful she said, is her left hip and leg. The doctor had to separate her muscle from her hip to get to her spine and she said that is causing her lots of grief.

When she saw him last week, he told her if she didn’t do the surgery, she was 3 months away from being in a diaper forever and 6 months away from being paralyzed and be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. What she had was more dangerous that open heart surgery. 😱😱😱 I don’t care how you put it but either one doesn’t sound good!

Unfortunately, to continue with mom being upset and cry, she told us our furry sister, Aspen, will cross the Bridge today. She was diagnosed with PLE. What’s that? Well, it’s protein-losing enteropathy. Aspen is wasting away and mom said she will not put Aspen through continuous testing, poking, etc, with a low rate of success. She has been crying since this morning because her baby girl will go Home today. She’s the goofiest, funniest little Maltese girl…

Please send mom some energy. She flat out of it right now.

I will be out of pocket for a while as I will have a third back surgery on Wednesday. I already have 2 plates in my lower back and I will have rods inserted above that area. Then it will be rehab.

Mom got test results today. She talked to us pups and told us that next Wednesday, the 26, she will have back surgery.😖

The doctor said he was going to put more metal in her back. He said rods and screws, whatever that is 🤔

He told her if she didn’t have surgery as soon as she can, she would have to be in a chair with wheels😱 within 6 months! 🤯

He said she could walk and if a nerve is too damaged, could fall and not be able to walk after. OMD!!!

She will be in the hospital for two nights and then go to a place to start walking more and do exercises.

Sooo… 🙄… She might be gone for a week or a bit more. I have to talk to Sabrina and tell her exactly what time mom gives us our Charlee Bear Nuggets!

HIII! It’s me, SOOKIE again!

I am a bit frazzled today because mom will not get out of her bedroom. Our schedule was all messed up this morning. We were fed earlier than usual and then mom and Sabrina left together 😱😱😱

They came back many days later! Well, at least it felt like many days… mom got in, went to her bedroom and hasn’t peeked out yet. 😠

Allegedly, mom had to go to a few tests this morning early and I heard Sabrina tell mom to go to bed right away. She said she has to be flat on her back for 24 hours!!! OMD! 😲 I usually sit on her stomach at night when we watch TV. What am I going to do tonight?

She said mom had tests in her lower back and the doctor put a looooonnng needle in her body to put color in her spine 😖😖; he had to do this 3 times! Mom said she was about to cuss in French! Mom!!! 🤭

When she gets up to go to the bathroom, she walks like she mimics the tower of Pisa! 😂😂

Seriously though… she will find out on Monday if she will have to have a 3rd back surgery. 😷 She said the doctor told her the odds are high that she will.

Mom said the doctor told her he was going to inject some kind of stuff that will numb up her lower back; he told her she would feel a tiny sting and pressure. She said he lied to her because it was more than a tiny sting. Then, he inserted that loooonnng needle and that’s when she felt like punching his lights out. That attempt didn’t work! He did the same thing a little lower… it didn’t work because he hit a bone… then lower again and that one worked. She said it had better because she was a hair away from walking out.

But the funny thing… they had her ROLL like a barrel going down the hill 3 TIMES! That was for the color to move in her spine.😂 My furry angel sister, SAMMIE POOCHON used to do that next to the wall 🤣🤣. I can do that too, but I have 4 legs to do it, she only has 2. I would have LOVED to see that!

Mom wanted to let you Northerners know that a boy she rescued from Lufkin, TX at 2 years old. He was adopted locally for several years. The couple decided they wanted to have more kids and the dogs were in the way.

PITMAN came back. Then a person adopted him in Rhodes Island a few years ago.

Unfortunately, PITMAN is coming back again because the person is moving.

So he will have been dumped 3 times in 12 years. PITMAN is available for adoption AGAIN! Whoever adopts that sweet boy must be serious about it. He needs a home where he will be loved and valued until the end.

He has a 4/6 heart murmur and takes pimobendan daily. It does not slow him down. He is potty and leash trained and loves the company of other dogs.

PITMAN is currently in Rhodes Island!

You can tell their mommies are tickled pink! So am I! 😃
