💻 The Expository/Informational Writing Across-the-Curriculum Webinar Series gives educators in grades 6–12 practical strategies for bringing the Jane Schaffer Writing Program® methodology, structure, and scaffolding into every classroom.

✍️ Tiered Writing for Elementary Webinar Part III: Expository
💻 This webinar series provides PK-5 elementary educators with professional development in teaching the Jane Schaffer Academic Writing Program to elementary students. The series includes instructional strategies in the following Expository formats: Non-text Based Informational; “How-To”; Summary; Text-Based Expository.
✅ Participants will receive a Teacher’s Guide and Student Masters for Expository/Informational Writing.
✅ In this workshop, participants will learn:
* the JSWP terminology, color-coding, and methodology;
* Non-text Based Informational; “How-To”; Summary; and Text-Based Expository formats;
* the step-by-step scaffolding process for students of various ages and cognitive levels;
* how to present models to students and creative activities to practice the process; and
* how to assess the work created.‍

Recorded Version: The recording’s viewing window will be available the following day from 12:00 P.M. (CDT) until 12:00 P.M. (CDT) 48-hours later. The price for the recorded session is higher than the live session because the recorded session requires homework assignments, graded by a National Trainer. For participants registered for the recording, certificates will be issued upon completion of a submitted portfolio of assignments.

📚 TRAIN-THE-TRAINER INSTITUTE: ELEMENTARY INTRODUCTION AND NARRATIVE
📚 Louis Educational Concepts (LEC) and the Jane Schaffer Academic Writing Program® (JSWP®) offer districts, campuses, and individuals a JSWP® Train-the-Trainer program, which instructs teachers, department chairs, instructional coaches, and instructional administrators how to train their staff in the Jane Schaffer® program and process.

✅ WHAT ONSITE TRAINERS LEARN
For the Train-the-Trainer Institutes, districts and campuses will identify and register their personnel to become OnSite Trainers. These individuals will attend institutes and learn how to implement SWP effectively among teachers.
✅ Specifically, they will learn and be expected to perform the following roles and tasks:
* Plan, pace, and implement training in the step-by-step JSWP process to adult learners
* Coach, team-teach, and observe teacher implementation of JSWP
* Anticipate, troubleshoot, and respond to frequently asked questions and/or potential obstacles
* Guide differentiation techniques for advanced academics, English learners, gifted and talented, and special education programs
* Apply JSWP methodology to prepare for high-stakes state and national tests
* Act as a liaison between the campus or district and LEC
