"You have cancer."

Three words I never wanted to hear. Three words that completely changed my life.

For so long, I was pushing, driving hard, and ignoring every sign that my mind and body needed to slow down. But a diagnosis forces you to pause.

It taught me to listen, journal, and pay attention to what was happening inside. So often, we live with a negative inner voice telling us we aren't enough... but that constant harsh self-talk is so harmful to our health and well-being.

Slowing down is a practice that we learn to integrate into our life. Even on vacation! My goals during vacation is to meditate each day and simple be present to the people around me and jump into a pool as often as I can.
