At Sentry Lacrosse, wall ball is not optional. It’s part of our culture.

Parents ask all the time, “How can my son get better?” Players ask the same question. The answer is actually pretty simple.

Consistently get on the wall with a purpose.

Pick one skill and work on it for one minute. Count your successful reps. The next time, try to beat your score while maintaining great technique. Once you’ve mastered that skill, move on to the next one. Eventually, put all of the skills together and repeat the process over and over.

There is no secret formula. There is no shortcut.

It comes down to outworking everyone around you. It comes down to having the mindset that you want to become a better player and a better teammate every single day.

When all of those small details come together, they create something special. Like a beautiful painting, people only admire the finished product. What they don’t always see are the thousands of repetitions, the discipline, and the commitment that went into creating it.

Enjoy the process. Fall in love with the work. Stay consistent, and let your hard work speak for itself.

Left to right dodge down the alley with purpose, looking to either score or draw the double team. Once the double comes, move the ball, trust your teammates, and find the open man. Great spacing creates great opportunities. Catch inside and finish clean.

Simple offense, played the right way. Move with purpose, make the extra pass, and let the defense make the mistake.

There is nothing better than watching our teams compete, grow, and celebrate championships together, especially our kindergarten and first grade players. Seeing these young athletes learn the game, trust their teammates, and have fun every step of the way is what it’s all about.

We know there is still a lot of hard work ahead, but if we continue to put in the effort every day, we’re excited for what this season has in store and hopefully many more championships along the way.

Future of the game is looking bright. Our Sentry first graders and kindergarteners are back at it again.

It all starts with a great faceoff win out the front, finding the open teammate. The lefty catches it in stride and buries it low and away. Simple, unselfish lacrosse and a great team goal.

We believe in teaching the game the right way from day one, ground balls, spacing, passing, decision making, and playing together as one.

Face offs are a massive part of the game, and it’s a skill we emphasize at every age level. From our youngest players to our oldest, we believe teaching proper technique, fundamentals, and competing for every possession is one of the biggest reasons our players continue to develop.

I’m incredibly proud of the work our boys put in this season, and I can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes in the year ahead.
