CHEAT CODE TO STRAIGHT WALLS šŸ“šŸ•¹ļøšŸ”Ø

Okay, construction nerds… this one’s for you.

Modern architecture is all about clean lines, smooth walls, minimal trim, and crisp transitions. But that look doesn’t happen by accident, it starts with straight, consistent framing.

And on this build, some of these walls rise to a towering 23 feet.

At that height, even small imperfections in the framing can become much more noticeable. A slight bow or twist at the bottom can translate into visible waves across a massive wall once the drywall goes up.

That’s why we’re using Weyerhaeuser Company TimberStrandĀ® LSL.

Unlike conventional sawn lumber, TimberStrandĀ® LSL is made from wood strands that are oriented, bonded with adhesive, and formed into a dense, engineered structural product. This manufacturing process helps create lumber with consistent dimensions, strength, and performance.

Translation?

Less bow.
Less twist.
Less crown.
More predictable framing.

And predictable framing is a BIG deal.. especially when you’re building tall walls with expansive, uninterrupted surfaces.

TimberStrandĀ® LSL is designed for applications such as wall studs, plates, and other structural framing components. Its straight, uniform profile helps make it easier to build walls that are plumb, straight, and true. which can mean fewer headaches when the drywall, cabinets, doors, trim, and finishes go in.

Because modern architecture leaves very little room for imperfections.

When the design is simple, the ex*****on has to be precise.

It’s one of those things you might never notice when you walk through the finished house…

because the whole point is that you shouldn’t.

Good building isn’t always about what you can see. Sometimes it’s about choosing engineered materials that deliver consistent performance behind the walls especially when those walls reach 23 feet into the air.

That’s one TALL wall. šŸ‘€
Framing one of the tallest walls on this build and this is where the details really matter.
Proper layout. Solid connections. Thoughtful framing. Built right, before anything gets covered up.
The finished product gets all the attention, but the work behind the walls is what makes a house perform for decades.

Today marks 2 years in business for Level Up Builds. šŸ„‚

When we started this company, we knew we wanted to do things a little differently. We’re construction nerds at heart. We genuinely enjoy the details; the building science, the craftsmanship, the problem-solving, and figuring out how to build something better.

Our goal has never been to simply build a house and move on to the next one. We want to build quality homes that perform well, feel good to live in, and are built to last for generations.

To every client who has trusted us with your home, your investment, and your vision, thank you. Your trust has allowed us to grow this company, learn from every project, and continue raising the bar for what we believe a home should be.

We’re incredibly grateful for the homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, friends, family, partners, and everyone who has supported Level Up Builds along the way.

Two years down. A lot more building to do. šŸ› ļø
Thank you for trusting us to build it right.

LEVEL UP: FRAME BY FRAME šŸ—ļø
The foundation is in, and now we’re officially going up.

Framing has officially started on the first floor, and it’s amazing to see this home finally take shape.

And we’re just getting started. šŸ‘€

Stay tuned as this one continues to LEVEL UP. šŸ”ØšŸ

The foundation is poured… but the work isn’t over. šŸ’§

One of the most important steps after a concrete slab is poured is proper curing. That’s why we’re watering the foundation twice a day.

Why does it matter?

āœ”ļø Slows moisture loss so the concrete cures properly.
āœ”ļø Helps reduce shrinkage and surface cracking.
āœ”ļø Allows the concrete to develop its full strength over time.
āœ”ļø Creates a stronger, more durable foundation for the home.

Concrete doesn’t ā€œdryā€ to become strong.. it cures through a chemical reaction with water. Keeping the slab moist during those first several days gives it the best opportunity to reach its designed strength.

Building a quality home isn’t just about what you can see. It’s about taking the time to do every step the right way.

Curb appeal begins at the front door.🚪

This beautiful new front door was too good not to share.
We’re currently remodeling this home in phases, and while there’s so much more to come, this transformation deserved its own spotlight.

A well-designed front door doesn’t just enhance the exterior… It creates a warm welcome and sets the tone for the entire home.

But this upgrade isn’t just about looks. šŸ”„ā˜€ļø
After installing the new door, the homeowners immediately noticed a significant improvement in the interior comfort of the home. The previous door allowed a considerable amount of heat to transfer inside, while this new, high-performance door helps keep the Texas heat where it belongs, outside.

✨ Features include:
• High energy-efficiency rating
• Double-insulated Low-E sidelights
• Argon gas-filled insulated glass for improved thermal performance

A quality front door is an investment in both curb appeal and everyday comfort.

Foundation Day. šŸš§šŸ”

Months of planning. Weeks of preparation. One big day.

Before a single yard of concrete was poured, we completed:
āœ”ļø Excavation
āœ”ļø Plumbing & water line inspections
āœ”ļø Grade beams
āœ”ļø V***r barrier
āœ”ļø Rebar
āœ”ļø Underground electrical
āœ”ļø Termite treatment
āœ”ļø Structural inspections

Pour day started at 4:30 AM and wrapped up around 6:00 PM. It’s a long day, but getting the foundation right is one of the most important parts of building a home.

Everything that comes next depends on what happens here.

Stay tuned next up, we’ll start bringing this custom home out of the ground. šŸ”Ø
