Anyone from Oklahoma will tell you that storm-watching is a past-time ⛈️ There’s a lot of weather, and Oklahoma has some of the best meteorologists in the country. Storms can be so beautiful but also incredibly scary!

Being born in Oklahoma, I feel like writing a romance that takes place during a tornado warning felt natural. The adrenaline can be sexy!

Hold on Tight is about two scientists who fall hard and fast while the world thrashes around them. It’s a fun, quick read with a cute cast of characters and some very steamy chapters! 💘

Do you like things that go bump in the night? How about people falling in love? We’ve got ghosts! 👻 We’ve got vampires! 🧛🏻‍♂️ We’ve got Bigfoot! 🫈Hickory Hill is no stranger to (friendly) monsters!

There’s 5 books currently in the Hickory Hill series: The Spectral Scoop, A Cryptic Propsal, Neon Fangs, A Ghost of a Holiday (ebook only), and Our Future Love Story. And coming next year: the 6th and FINAL book in the series! Want to guess which mystical being will make their appearance this time? (Hint: 🐦‍⬛⚗️)

It's been a busy summer! I've been knitting and playing Fields of Mistria. And writing, of course! Lots and lots of writing. Expect book news soon! I've got two in the pipeline. (Pssttt -- I've shared more details in my newsletter!) https://leightonrsmith.substack.com/p/a-little-update-and-some-book-news?r=tvgef

Y’all…I’m so ready for the end of summer! 🥵 Cool off with A Cryptic Proposal, an enemies-to-lovers romance about an archivist with cold feet and a Bigfoot enthusiast who’s looking for an excuse to get closer.

Psst…it’s on Kindle Unlimited for one more month!

Double psst…more book news soon! I spent August writing, knitting, and playing Fields of Mistria 🌱

IMO The Spectral Scoop is the vibiest of the Hickory Hill series. Like a hot cider with cinnamon whipped cream ☕️

Honorable mentions (and because I ran out of room): “Breathe on Me” by the one and only Britney Spears and “Free Fallin’” by Tom Petty

Maybe it’s the millennial in me but I love a book playlist 🎶🎶🎶
