Hebron launch is open!

The newly improved Hebron Kayak Launch is now open!

Please note that access is currently limited to the stairs while crews complete grading and concrete repairs to the ramp. Ramp construction is expected to continue for the next couple of weeks.

Please plan accordingly, and we’ll share another update when the ramp is available.

We know many of you have been waiting for this one. The Bittern Marsh Trail is officially OPEN again!

Our team has been working hard all summer to make sure the trail is safe for both you and the landscape, and we are so excited to welcome you back to one of LLELA’s most beloved trails.

And if Bittern Marsh is on your must-hike list, now is the time to visit! This is a limited-time reopening while work gets underway for the next phase of improvements in the area. We’ll share more details when we have a confirmed timeline for the next closure.

So get it while it’s hot- literally. 😎 If you’re heading out, bring plenty of water, wear lightweight clothing, and plan your hike outside of peak heat hours whenever possible.

We’ll see you out on the marsh!

Next Phase of Panther Island Flood Control Project to take effect.

The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is seeking construction contractors for the next phase of Panther Island, which will feature new canals and a three-acre public park. Interested parties must submit their bids by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.

An urban stream in the heart of Fort Worth is in the process of becoming a thriving natural ecosystem!

Led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters (USACE) in partnership with TRWD - Tarrant Regional Water District and the City of Fort Worth, this project will restore Ham Branch’s natural stream bed and banks, re-establish a streamside corridor and revive wetland habitat that has been lost over time.

The habitat mitigation feature is currently underway and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
