We’re starting the morning at 74° and climbing to around 98° this afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect, with heat index values potentially reaching 109°. Expect hot and muggy conditions throughout most of the day.

A disturbance moving in from the north later this evening/night that could produce a few thunderstorms across our area. According to the National Weather Service, Paulding County is currently under a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather. Storm coverage should remain isolated, but any storms that develop could become strong or severe.

We’ll be watching closely for any development. Stay hydrated, take plenty of breaks, and limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.

Stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and never leave children or pets inside a parked vehicle.
