🔥🔋 Fire Prevention Week is October 4–10! 🔋🔥

This year’s message is one that hits close to home—literally.

⚡ Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower! ⚡

From phones and tablets to laptops, e-bikes, scooters, and other battery-powered devices, lithium-ion batteries are part of our everyday lives. But how we charge them matters.

A few simple habits can help reduce the risk of battery-related fires:

🔌 Use the charger and cords recommended for your device.

👀 Keep charging devices where you can see them and avoid charging while you’re sleeping or away from home.

🛋️ Charge on a hard, flat surface—not under a pillow, on a bed, or covered by blankets.

🔥 Pay attention to warning signs. If a battery is damaged, swelling, leaking, overheating, or behaving unusually, stop using it.

🚫 Don’t use damaged cords or chargers.

And remember: more charging doesn't mean more safe. Give your devices the space and attention they need while they power up.

At EMA, we know preparedness isn't just about what to do during a disaster. It's about taking small steps every day to prevent emergencies from happening in the first place.

So this Fire Prevention Week:

🔌 Plug in.
⚡ Power up.
🔥 Stay safe.

Because when it comes to fire safety, being prepared is a superpower. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Good Morning and Happy Monday Paulding County!

Good morning, Paulding County!

We’re waking up to a little fog this morning, but visibility remains good. A few showers moved through earlier, but they’ve now shifted south of our area.

Drier air should move in this week. Today’s high will be around 77°, with temperatures warming back into the low 80s later in the week. As we’ve discussed, a cold front is expected around October 11 or 12. After it moves through, highs could drop into the low 70s, with overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.

For today, expect mostly cloudy skies and only a slight chance of a shower. I’m not expecting much rain.

Have a great day, everyone!

SOME OF THE BEST CHRISTMAS MEMORIES ARE MADE CLOSE TO HOME.

There’s a certain kind of magic that only comes around at Christmas.

It’s the glow of twinkling lights on a crisp December evening. The sound of Christmas music in the air. The smell of something delicious baking nearby. The excitement on a child’s face when they see Santa. A warm cup in your hands. A familiar face in the crowd. And the feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be, with the people you love.

That’s Christmas in Paulding County.

And this year, we’re making room for even more memories.

The 3rd Annual Paulding County Christkindl Market is coming back to the Watson Government Complex for three days of Christmas magic, hometown tradition and holiday memories.

Friday, December 11 from 5:30–9:00 PM
Saturday, December 12 from 12:00–9:00 PM
Sunday, December 13 from 1:00–6:00 PM

Bring the family and wander through the lights. Listen to Christmas music. Find that special gift. Enjoy delicious food. Let the kids experience the wonder of the season. Catch up with friends and neighbors. And maybe, just maybe, start a new Christmas tradition your family will look forward to every year.

Because years from now, we may not remember every gift we bought or every meal we ate.

But we’ll remember who we were with.

We’ll remember the laughter.
The lights.
The little faces filled with wonder.
The hugs.
The familiar Christmas songs.
And those special moments when everyone was together.

That’s what the Christkindl Market is all about.

It’s about celebrating the season right here in the place we call home. It’s about family, friendship and community. And most of all, it’s about creating Christmas memories that last a lifetime.

So, Paulding County, mark your calendars.

Come home for Christmas.
Come make a memory.
Come start a tradition.

Field Crews Administer 50th In-Field Transfusion; Governor Kemp
Presents Commendation

ATLANTA — MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service was recently honored by Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp in recognition of our Pre-Hospital Blood Transfusion Program. The presentation was made on Monday, September 28, 2026.

We are humbled to be recognized in this public way. The greater milestone since the program began was reached this week: MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service field crews administered their 50th in-field transfusion.

The program brings blood transfusion out of the hospital and to the scene of trauma. Patients who are hemorrhaging — among the most time-sensitive threats in critical injury — can receive blood before they reach the emergency department.

This program is another step forward as MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service continues to seek out innovative pre-hospital care solutions, with our mission always before us:

To Provide Excellence in Patient Care and Customer Service.
