Fall officially begins this week and we're ready with the annual Fall Native Plant Sale at the 2nd Street Market and Build a Scare Crow at Wegerzyn Garden MetroPark. Friday is the next free movie night at RiverScape, RiverScape Reels presents The Mandalorian and Grogu. Check out all the program we have planned in the link in comments/bio!

The Hispanic Heritage Festival is bumping with activities thanks to PACO - The Puerto Rican, American and Caribbean Organization ! The parade was awesome and the festivities continue until 11 p.m. The URS: United Rehabilitation Services duck drop is also this afternoon! See you at RiverScape MetroPark for food, music, performances and more!

Fall is one of the best times to plant native plants, including trees and shrubs! The 2nd Street Market will host its annual Fall Native Plant Sale next Sunday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. so be sure to make a plan for your yard and then shop from some of the region's incredible local growers!

Our leadership team is readying their offices for spooky season and we're here for it! Fall is one of our favorite times of the year to adventure outdoors and we have some really cool programs coming up! In fact, we've included a clue to what are next few RiverScape Reels movies are! Heads up, homecoming attendees! If you are heading to a school dance this season or are a parent of a student who will attend a homecoming dance, there are a few things our park rangers and staff want you to know! First and most importantly, we ask that if you plan on visiting a MetroPark for photos that you respect our rangers, park staff and natural spaces. Also to note:

⚠️Due to the volume of cars, MetroParks Rangers may intermittently close the lots at both Cox Arboretum and Wegerzyn Gardens MetroParks.
⚠️ Parking on the grass is never permitted in Five Rivers MetroParks unless a park staff member or ranger allows it.
⚠️ MetroParks follows Leave No Trace Principles, which means visitors should leave the park without disturbing the natural spaces. This includes packing out the waste brought into the park, refraining from picking flowers or disrupting other wildlife and sticking to durable surfaces rather than walking through habitats, flower beds, etc.
⚠️ The parks are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., which means it is a shared space for all visitors to enjoy. When arriving to take photos, please refrain from impeding visitors trying to recreate in nature. Please respect your fellow park visitors, MetroParks staff and MetroParks rangers.
⚠️ There are plenty of MetroParks locations that are perfect for photos that are less crowded than Cox Arboretum and Wegerzyn Gardens MetroParks, such as Aullwood Garden MetroPark, Englewood MetroPark, Carriage Hill MetroPark, Twin Creek MetroPark, Island MetroPark and Deeds Point MetroPark.

¡Vamos a RiverScape MetroPark este sábado! We'll be hosting PACO's Hispanic Heritage Festival and the United Rehabilitation Service's Rubber Duck Regatta at RiverScape MetroPark this Saturday. Join us from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for culture, food, entertainment and art as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Also Saturday, the Rubber Duck Regatta drop is between 4 and 5 p.m. Grab a duck and watch them race down the Great Miami River.

Black bears and weasels and Ohio, oh my! Join us for EcoTalks tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Cox Arboretum MetroPark as we learn from professionals at University of Dayton and the Ohio Division of Wildlife about black bears and weasels in Ohio. This program is free, but registration is required. Link in comment/bio to register!
