The North Georgia Annual Conference starts tomorrow! The Housing and Homeless Council will be sharing about our work during Session Two so make sure you are in the Classic Center or livestreaming Thursday afternoon!

This year, the North Georgia United Methodist Housing and Homeless Council awarded $61,700 across 8 incredible organizations doing life-changing work for our neighbors experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness across North Georgia.

From renovating transitional housing to replacing a broken freezer that threatened a food pantry's entire supply — every dollar goes toward meeting real, urgent needs with dignity and care.

Exciting Updates: New Grants, Recommended Resources and Upcoming Grant Application We are thrilled to announce the recipients of our spring 2026 Capital and Habitat grants! Thanks to your generosity, these ministries will continue providing critical services including emergency shelter, meals, transitional housing, and more.

Schools out! While this much anticipated time means more fun for kids and their families, it can also be a time of greater food insecurity. Check with your local community co-op or food pantry to see if you can help with summer meals!

School is almost out and we need your help! Food donations have been down about 25% over the last few months. When summer starts our client numbers typically go up as we feed more children who no longer have access to free breakfast and lunch at school. Please help by donating our most needed items.

We are so excited for Family Promise of Athens and grateful to among the supporters of their new transitional living house. This project is a great example of what is possible when communities come together to create housing!

We cannot work to end homelessness until we listen to the stories of those who have lived it. If you are looking for a resource for your church, we highly recommend watching Homeless, a documentary film by Valerio Zanoli, which gives a look into the lives of five unhoused individuals who share their struggles and journey.

It takes a community to end homelessness. The North GA Housing & Homeless Council brings together laity and clergy from every district, alongside at-large members — all united by a shared commitment to serving our neighbors in need. At its core, the Housing & Homeless Council is simply people who share a love of God and a call to service — coming together to ensure that every neighbor has a safe place to call home.
