Here’s why everyone else is wrong about August:
The afternoon thunderstorms roll in almost like clockwork, cool everything down by evening, and turn every patio into the best seat in the city.
Back to school means the tourists thin out and locals quietly reclaim the parks, the Beltline, and the brunch spots on weekdays.
Prices drop everywhere. Hotels, staycation deals, and last minute reservations at the places that were booked solid all summer suddenly open up.
A few things actually worth doing in August:
📍 Catch golden hour at Skyline Park on top of Ponce City Market. The heat breaks and the view does all the work.
📍 Hit the Beltline early, before 9am, while it’s quiet and the light is unreal.
📍 Post up on a patio after a storm rolls through. Everyone has the same idea and it’s the best kind of crowded.
