“Autumn Blessing”

The light and the dark are the same in length,
they have equal time and equal strength.
But soon the darkness will prevail,
and the light and the warmth will begin to pale.
Do not be afraid, do not dismay,
for this is the rhythm of nature’s way.
Rejoice in the abundance that this year bears,
Breathe deep in the coolness and change in the air.
Have gratitude and blessing, keep toll,
And may this shift of nature enlighten your soul.

The Autumnal Equinox is the midpoint between summer and winter when light and dark are in perfect balance. Symbolically, we are invited to hold these two energies at once;
Light & Dark. We can also hold gratitude for what we has come to us so far,
and well as release what we no longer need as for our next chapter.

Over the next few days or week, take a moment to reflect, allow yourself to experience
the shift of the season, and what you can bring to your day.
This is a wonderful time of year to enjoy a quiet walk in nature, light a candle
to refresh your space, and to simply pause to appreciate the season shifting.

It is also a perfect time to return to your mat and take time for your practice.
We have some wonderful events in store for you. Please join us!🕉️🙏😊

This Friday is the start of the Jewish Holiday, Rosh Hashanah, the
Jewish New Year. It is also the 25th year remembrance of the 9/11 attack on our country. Many of us can remember where we were that morning and the horror that struck at our very being. We may also remember how united we became as a country, how we turned towards one another and offered support, no matter what political affiliation, sexual orientation, color of skin, etc.
This Friday may we honor the almost 3,000 Americans who died that day and the countless first responders who courageously put their lives at risk to save others.
Tikkun Olam is a Hebrew phrase meaning “repairing the world.” It comes from the Hebrew roots meaning “to set in order” or “repair” (tikkun) and “the world” or “universe.” In Judaism it describes taking actions that improve or heal society. It provides the context for one’s purpose in life.
The convergence of the September 11 anniversary and Rosh Hashanah calls us to balance the heavy grief of remembrance with the hopeful renewal of the Jewish New Year.
May we each use this holiday and every day to practice “Tikkun Olam,” to work together to repair our world.🙏🌎💙

“Despite the devastating flood in Nepal that destroyed countless homes and lives, the stupa holding HH Penor Rinpoche’s relics remained miraculously untouched. To many, it stands as a powerful sign, that compassion, faith, and blessings can endure even the fiercest storms. In a time of great loss, this sacred monument offers hope, reminding us that some things are beyond destruction and that peace, like the relic within, can never be washed away.
May all those who affected by the flood be healed and all those who have lost their lives, may all be reborn in the field of Guru Rinpoche.”

When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.”

Remembering Dolly Parton 💖

“I just came across this photo of Dolly Parton doing yoga with her teacher, Larry Payne.

After a sweet little moment of reflection, my immediate thought was…

Of course Dolly was a yogi.

And I don’t mean simply because of how she looks, her flexibility, or whether she ever rolled out a yoga mat.

I mean the way she has lived her life.

There is something deeply yogic about staying rooted in who you are while living in a world that constantly tries to tell you who to be.

About knowing your worth without needing to diminish yourself or someone else.

About finding joy, sharing what you have, lifting others up, laughing at yourself, working hard, loving deeply, giving generously, and continuing to show up as you through every season of life.

Yoga, to me, has never just been about putting your body into a shape.

It is a practice of coming home to yourself.

Of learning how to hold both strength and softness.

Of staying connected to your center when life gets loud.

Of recognizing that we are all connected and allowing that awareness to shape how we move through the world.

And somehow, when I think about Dolly Parton, I think…

Yep. Of course she was a yogi. 🧘🏼‍♀️✨💗

Maybe some of the most beautiful expressions of yoga aren’t always found in a studio.

Maybe sometimes they look like a woman with big hair, rhinestones, an enormous heart, and a lifetime spent reminding people that there is plenty of room in this world for us all to shine.✨
